Worktop templating.
Get the kitchen ready first.

Templating is where the finished worktop dimensions and details are captured before fabrication. Good preparation helps avoid assumptions, delays and expensive changes later.

Before template

Have the important details
ready to confirm.

CabinetsBase units should normally be installed, fixed, level and in their final positions before accurate worktop measurements are taken.
Sink & hobHave the actual models or reliable manufacturer specifications available so cut-outs and clearances can be confirmed.
Overhangs & edgesConfirm visible overhangs, edge profiles, upstands, splashbacks and waterfall or feature ends before fabrication.
Joints & detailsDiscuss joint positions, tap holes, drainer grooves, socket cut-outs and other project-specific details at template stage.

Why it matters

Template is the bridge
between design and fabrication.

Changes after measurements have been approved can affect fabrication, material use, installation dates and cost. Treat template sign-off as a serious project checkpoint.
